Defect costs are locked in long before anyone runs an inspection. By the time a product reaches finished goods testing or port-of-entry checks, the material specs, tolerances, and supplier processes that drive failure rates are already locked in — testing at that stage can only catch problems that are already there. This panel looks at what it takes to move detection upstream from the supplier's perspective: pre-production testing gates, supplier-side data collection, and risk scoring built on real supply chain data rather than end-of-line sampling.

This panel hands the mic to suppliers. Shifting left in the quality process only makes sense if suppliers have the data infrastructure and testing capability to act on it — otherwise "shift left" just moves the failure point without fixing it. We'll get into what that infrastructure actually looks like: how AI-driven quality intelligence can flag material or process risk before a batch is committed, what a workable pre-production gate requires from both brand and supplier, and how to build supplier-led data collection that catches issues at the source instead of waiting for them downstream.
