About me
An incisive, cross-functional, high performance and dynamic professional, Dr. Anindita Mehta has over 34 years’ experience in various domains of Academics, Research & Training, Standards, Sustainability, Food & Nutrition, Product Safety & Health. She holds a Master’s Degree and Senior Research Fellowship in Biochemistry. Her PhD thesis was on “Isolation & Characterization of Bioactive Natural Products”.
Currently she holds the position of CEO, CERC (Consumer Education & Research Centre, India), and Vice President & Board Trustee of Consumers International, CI, UK, which is the membership organization of 200 member countries worldwide. She has been appointed on the Governing Council of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). She is the Chair’s Advisory Board Member of International Standards Organization, ISO-COPOLCO, Geneva, and Asia Consumer Standards, S. Korea.
Additionally, she is the Coordinator EIACP - MoEF& CC (Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India), She is on the Steering Committee of Ecolabels Rules, Govt of India, State Level Advisory Committee of FSSAI & Board Member of St. Xaviers College, & Association of Chemical Technologists of India (ACTI).
She has spearheaded various National and International projects & represented India at United Nations (UNCTAD), WHO, WTO Public Forums, UNEP, OECD Ministerial at Paris, Stockholm Food Forum, ISO Plenary & Annual meetings at Geneva, Rwanda and many more & is presently serving on various other important Government & Regulatory consultative Committees both in India and Globally.
Prior to joining CERC, she was Lecturer at St. Xaviers College, and Senior Scientist at a reputed Research organisation (ATIRA). She has twice been a recipient of “Women’s Eminence Award” by Industry Association group,
Gujarat.
