About me
Chris Gulbrandsen, CPSP, is a seasoned consumer product safety and regulatory compliance leader with experience guiding global brands, retailers, and manufacturers across diverse product categories. As the Quality and Compliance Manager – US at tonies, Chris leads all U.S. and Canadian regulatory compliance, driving major operational improvements. A Certified Product Safety Professional, Chris has built and led high-performing compliance and quality teams in children’s products, cosmetics, apparel, and general consumer products at companies including tonies, TMI Acquisition, Chewy.com, Mars Retail Group, Horizon Group USA, and SGS North America.
Chris is known for transforming complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable programs that strengthen product safety, reduce operational risk, and accelerate development timelines. His work spans children’s products, toys, apparel, cosmetics, electronics, pet products, food contact materials, and general consumer products with extensive hands-on experience across global factory networks.
Chris is currently the ICPHSO Membership Committee Chairman and is an active contributor to industry standards, serving on multiple ASTM task groups.
He holds a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and advanced certifications in product safety management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time making furniture or going hiking.
