About me
Lynn Berndt-Weis is the Director of Assessment, Information and Engagement Bureau in the Consumer Product Safety Program at Health Canada, working to protect the health and safety of Canadians by identifying, assessing, managing and communicating health and safety risks posed by consumer products and cosmetics.
The Bureau undertakes product testing, risk assessment and analysis to assess emerging hazards, identify and assess product trends — including the establishment of methodologies, contributions to standards development, and approaches and priorities to assess these risks. The Bureau is also home to information and data services and is responsible for external relations, both domestically and internationally.
Lynn has worked within Health Canada over the past 25 years and holds a Bachelor of Science (High Honours in Biology) from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, and a Master of Science, Biology, University of Maine, USA.
